About
Why Artisan de la Paix?
Artisan de la Paix means Peacemaker in French. The term denotes a building, a creating of peace, thus disolving passive misunderstandings of peacemaker and fashioning a new, active, moving, hands in the brick and mortar type of peacemaking. After living in the Democratic Republic of Congo and having the privilege of spending time documenting stories in conflict and disaster areas around the world, both conflicts of epic human and natural proportions, Lindsay became compelled to enter a space where story and art could contribute directly to the making of peace in places with great landscapes of violence.
